Don't throw out your swiffers or brooms just yet, February 16, 2012 By This review is from: Neato White XV-12 All Floor Robotic Vacuum System + $49.99 Bonus Pack Bundle (Kitchen) I purchased this via Woot on impulse a month ago after I had just gotten a bonus at work. Basically, my idea was to try something like this before spending a lot of money on maid service (between the cost of day care and ordering in food more often and the maid service, maybe it would be better if I just stay at home, no?).
If my Neato were a maid, I would fire him (I haven't named him but I've decided he's a he, probably because I am being reverse-sexist) due to these CONS:
- He misses spots near corners and along edges (walls or low furniture).
- He can't handle getting everything under the dining room table (has trouble getting around all the chair legs)
- He has trouble transitioning from wood to high pile carpet (extra cushy carpet in our daughter's room). He actually got stuck once and I had to give him a little nudge
- He generally leaves a line of crumbs along the perimeter of our area rug, I guess from the change in elevation.

The most awesome cleaning appliance ever!, December 25, 2011 This review is from: Neato White XV-12 All Floor Robotic Vacuum System + $49.99 Bonus Pack Bundle (Kitchen) This machine is my new best friend! It is friggin amazing. I received it for Christmas and if I had known how much it cost I probably would not have taken it out of the box! Thank goodness I did because it is worth every penny! It is so smart, doesn't get stuck in tight spaces, goes under my bed for all the dust bunnies. It talks to me via its LCD screen. Only thing I have to do is pick up where I want it to clean and let it go. When it needs to be charged it goes back and docks itself and then returns where it left off! So, so cool! Thank you for the technology. My life just got a little easier, because of this product!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas fearing she would think it a horrible gift. She loves it and thanks me everyday. She even named it "Rosie" after the Jetson's cleaning robot. It does a wonderful job and navigates flawlessly in, around and under furniture and through a number of connected rooms . We have a dog, cat and a kid who has friends over constantly and our white carpet needed attention everyday. Now it gets it. We come home from work and the floors are immaculate and my wife loves the traffic pattern the Neato leaves on the carpet. It does a better job than our Miele canister vac. It is slower and more precise and does a deeper cleaning. I only wish I had ordered the White version. I can't recommend it enough!
